On our way to Carrizo, which you’ve already read about, we
stopped to visit friends, John and Kristin, in Paso Robles. It wasn’t the direct route to Carrizo, but it
fit in with their schedule and it was fun to see them.
While there, John took us to his local favorite half day work
out spot, Cerro Alto, and he invited his friend Chris along to make a nice
group.
Chris told us we had a chance to see salamanders and at the first trickle of water he found one.
The chaparral was gorgeous with many species in flower and
Susan attempted to photograph all of them, so our pace up the mountain was
relaxed.

The views from the top were nice as well with views out to
the rock at Morro Bay.
