Super Bloom Part 1 -- Kern River Canyon

One of the best lunch spots ever!
While we were in Africa, we kept reading about all the rain and the flower super bloom happening in California.  By the time we returned, it was completely out of control, both with the numbers of people - 100,000 a day at one location - and the number of flowers.

What can you say other than wow to both.

Our friend Alison suggested that we should go to the Kern River Canyon for the lovely display without the crowds.  We are very glad we listened to her.  She even helped us stage a car for a one way hike.  Thank you Ali.

It was incredible, and I discovered one of my top ten lunch view spots.  Yes, the next time there are flowers I will be back.

  1. I guess you prefer poppies. I liked the blue flowers.

  2. So glad you have had such a wonderful wildflowery spring. Keep moving higher as the spring doesn't end until November in the mountains. And you are very welcome. Glad Denise turned you on to Short Canyon too!
