Super Bloom Part 7 - Unexpected Lilies

There wasn't supposed to be another installment in our desert super bloom saga, but here it is. A quick hike yesterday into the Argus Mountains to a  known location for Desert Mariposa Lilies (Calochortus kennedyi) yielded a bonanza. It takes special conditions to get lilies to bloom in such profusion, and it doesn't happen often. We were fortunate to be there this year and at just the right time in the season. We'll just let the photos speak for themselves.

    1. I include maps with most of our hikes, but some locations just have to remain personal. Sorry.
