Wire Pass and Buckskin Gulch

We all wanted to do a slot canyon and the Wire Pass/Buckskin Gulch combo came highly recommended.  Our plan was to head through Wire Pass and then down Buckskin until we got tired, or hit the cesspool.  The cesspool is described as a knee high to neck deep pool of stagnant water filled with all sorts of interesting organic material.  Sounds nice doesn't it?  Turns out because of recent rains we hit the cesspool junior only a couple miles down Buckskin so we chose to go explore the upper part of the canyon instead.  It turned out to be a fabulous choice as we wandered a bit in some exceptional scenery.

What??? This is rated as an easy hike.  No one mentioned the ladder of death.

Just cuz we didn't go beyond cesspool jr, doesn't mean we didn't experience the water.
