We had so much fun in Yosemite the first week we were there, we had to go back. Once again it was a mixture of exploring new areas, and visiting old favorites. Our last week was marred by smoke, so no Yosemite for us for awhile. Hope to be back this fall.

White Bark Pine. Rarely do I have that good a view of the cones. |

It started out a bit smoky. |

By the time we finished, the smoke was appalling. |
Epic scenery. I'd bet few folks have seen the things you see on that route. That one photo showing a lake with two mini El Capitans in the background was especially gorgeous. White Bark Pine is hard to find in Nevada County, where we live. It really likes the very high country. And the Nutcrackers like them too. You still have some good flowers even at this late date. You must have been at impressive elevation. You guys don't usually post mileage and elevations, but I wish you would. But you probably don't want to make ordinary folks feel bad!
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I could keep up with you and to go along on your hikes.
Stunning geology and seemingly endless.(Yay) The flowers are wonderful as is the rock-hugging tree. And trees in cracks. I love it. Good to see you hikers. Certainly wonderfully clear, then clouds. It does my heart good to see so much wild country.
