We have been doing some of our local favorites. They are mostly loop trips that involve a fair amount of off-trail travel and distance, which is nice as it limits our human interactions. We have a lovely a loop in the Little Lakes Valley which I should name A Day of Rock Hopping. It is worth it for the views and flowers though.

You must have been at a pretty high elevation, judging by the treeline. Spectacular mountain scenery. Not much like it in the Northern Sierra, except for a few "buttes", although the Desolation Wilderness is pretty good. My knees would never take the rock hopping on those rocks. Many thanks for the great photos.
